All patients have the right to participate in their own health care decisions and to make Advance Directives or execute Power of Attorney that authorizes others to make decisions on their behalf based on the patient’s expressed wishes when the patient is unable to make decisions or unable to communicate decisions. Surgical Care of Wyoming respects and upholds these rights; however, we cannot honor them here at the center.
All patients will be informed of our advanced directive policy.
Regardless of the content of any advance directive or instructions from a health care surrogate or attorney-in-fact, that if an adverse event occurs during your treatment at our facility, we will initiate resuscitative or other stabilizing measures and transfer you to a higher level of care. The patients are directed to the Advance Directives section in the Authorizations and Disclosures section of the front desk packet. Advance Directives are available if the patient requests a copy.
Everything was perfect. The staff was so nice, respectful. I felt comfortable. The surgical building is a wonderful addition to Gillette.
